Our girls got their grade cards for the first semester yesterday. Great reports on all of them. Jordan and Ashley both have high A's in all their subjects and Hailey is coming right along. I'm so proud of all of them.Jordan and Ashley have made amazing strides in reading just since the first of the year. They went from sounding out each letter of a word over and over and coming up with a word totally unrelated, to reading level 2 and 3 books in just a few months. This is a picture of Ashley standing in front of the sign that shows this week she is in the top 10 A.R. Reading points for the entire K-6th grade school. Ashley reads anything she can get her hands on.
Jordan has made dramatic improvements too and I'm so proud that she didn't give up. She has struggled a little more with reading than Ashley, but she still loves to read and is doing great. She got her 75 AR points certificate for a free drink at Trent's Pharmacy today. She was so proud when she gave it to them to get her drink. She let all of them know that she already has 80 points now.
Hailey is still working on her letters and numbers, but knows all her colors except gray and all but two of her shapes. She can write her name and her best friend Mia's name too. Her teacher wrote a note of high praise: "Hailey is a great student. She takes her time and does her best on her work. Hailey's a smart girl and does very well in Pre-K. I just love Hailey - she's so sweet, so funny and such a joy to have in class. Hailey is very artistic! (which I know you already knew!)" This is a picture of her with the snowman she decorated this weekend. If you look carefully in the pink feathers, you can see the little princess crown we made with silver pipe cleaner.
